iOS 7 has brought a fresh look and tons of new features for apple users. As we all know, the new features may shorten your battery life. Personally, we have never been a big fan of iPhone’s batter life. Here’s a list of few simple tricks which you can follow and enhance your battery life.
Turn off location services or allow only a few select apps to use location services. Location services are a real Battery worm. Moreover, iOS uses your location for integrated software(built-in functions) functions. Turn them off in system location settings to boost the much valued battery life.
Don’t keep these settings ON all the time. As of us use them but forget to switch them off once we are done. Bluetooth keeps on searching devices in the background and can accelerate the discharge process.
I don’t need the parallax effect! Do you? I don’t think so. For those who don’t know, parallax effect is created using the accelerometer of the device. It’s equivalent to playing Temple Run all the time. Go to accessibility -> reduce motion -> turn it on.
As stated by apple “3G can load data faster, but may reduce battery life”, we don’t have any second thoughts about it. Avoid using LTE/3G when and wherever possible. Battery life improved? Affirmative.
Something dynamic vs something static. I don’t believe any explanation is required. Avoid it.
6) Disable Siri
Using Apple’s voice assistant may look cool, but this sweet sounding lady runs all the time in background. Kill her and see the magic. Settings -> siri -> disable
Allow only a few apps to push notifications on your lock screen. It will definitely do wonders.
Go to time settings and disable the setting which sets your time automatically by determining your location and time zone. Though miniscule, but will definitely have a positive effect on your battery life.
Use auto brightness. It senses the ambient light conditions and sets brightness apt for the surrounding. Total winner!
10) Turn off background app refresh
Apple introduced real multitasking in iOS 7. This allows apps to refresh, download and process data in background. Ideally iOS monitors your app usage and automatically refreshes the apps running in background. If you are always on the go and battery is of paramount importance to you, we would rather recommend you to turn this off in general settings.
