Volvo’s new ad featuring Jean-Claude Van Damme performing a full split between two reversing Volvo trucks has set the web ablaze with over 7 million YouTube views, half a million Facebook shares and 20,000 tweets in just 2 days!
Update: With 67.4 million YouTube views, 2.2 million Facebook shares and 65,000 tweets , this was one of the most-shared ads of 2013.
Volvo’s objective was to demonstrate the precision, stability and control of the Dynamic Steering on its FM line of trucks. Directed by Andreas Nilsson, the film was shot in one take at a (closed-off) landing strip in Spain. The soundtrack is ‘Only Time’ by Enya.
