Mark your calendars, everyone: Google has announced the schedule for the seventh annual Google I/O developer conference. It will be happening on June 25-26 at Moscone Center in San Francisco.
It may be two seasons away, but as Sundar Pichai noted on Google+, it’s only 126 days till the mega dev conference kicks off, days that are sure to fly by.
The company has yet to update its official event site, but registration information and other details will arrive next month. This year’s conference comes more than a month later than the 2013 edition, which ran from May 15-17.
Google’s Senior Vice President Sundar Pichai did share in a Google+ post that Google is making some changes to registration process this year, so that developers don’t flood Google’s servers the second registration opens.
“We’ll be implementing a new system, where you can submit your interest to attend Google I/O 2014. Successful applicants will then be randomly selected and notified shortly thereafter. “
It’s too soon for any big clues as to what will be unveiled this year, although Google used its 2013 I/O presentations to announce All Access music streaming, its first Google Play Edition phone and the Glass Developer Kit. Some top contenders for Google IO 2014 include Android 5, an 8-inch Nexus 8 tablet, a Chromecast update and a deeper dive into the ear piece-wielding Google Glass 2.
