Days back, Apple directed its developers to upgrade their apps in order to take full advantage of the visually overhauled iOS 7 which brilliantly uses translucency and parallax. The foursquare update has hit the app store few hours before the official release of iOS 7 and is coherent with the flatter look and feel of the latest mobile operating system.
The Foursquare team notes:
The moment you update your phone to iOS 7, you’ll see a fresh coat of paint on Foursquare. We’ve fancied up the icon, updated the UI, and made it all work flawlessly in Apple’s new iOS. So, while you’re playing with your new operating system (or new phone!), you can keep using Foursquare as usual.
The developers have tweaked the keyboards, fonts and design which is not dramatically different from that of the previous version. It’s simply flatter!
The new version is available in the app store for free. The app is optimized for iPhone and iPod touch running iOS 6.0 or later. Note that Foursquare’s “fresh coat of paint” is applicable only to iDevices on iOS 7. For iDevices on iOS 6, the app displays the same design as before, but it does feature a few behind-the-scenes improvements.
