Google thinks so too because over at Mountain View, the company is apparently still using the Nexus 5 for testing purposes. Google talks about its new security features of Android M , they revealed that they had a modified Nexus 5 handset with a fingerprint sensor built into it. Safe to say that this handset is definitely not for sale and it is merely a testing device, but at the same time we have to marvel at the idea of a Nexus 5 handset with such a feature. Imagine if Google were to release another Nexus with the same design but with updated specs and a fingerprint sensor, how awesome would that be?
An image posted to a Nexus enthusiast community on Google+ reveals a device that looks like it could be a new Nexus 5. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back, which is something that Motorola was going to put in the Nexus 6 until Apple bought the company that was going to supply the sensor.
The rumor mill has been pretty consistent about two Nexus devices: A 5.7-inch Nexus 6 made by Huawei and a 5.2-inch Nexus 5 from LG. It’s a good strategy, as the only pure Google device you can get right now is the Nexus 6 , which most will find too large. But this year Nexus phones will compete against a very good, budget-friendly Moto G and a Moto X that may finally have a good camera.
