There are many of us who use one device for calling and another for entertainment. So, probably Asus thought, “Let’s make something that can do both the jobs” and made a PadFone and the FonePad.
We have seen the Asus PadFone 2. The PadFone Infinity is the newest entry in the PadFone franchisee of Asus. The main difference the PadFone Infinity has from the PadFone 2 is the resolution of the tablet dock screen. The resolution in the PadFone 2 was 1280×800, which was enhanced with the PadFone Infinity to 1920×1200.
The PadFone Infinity has a unibody design made out of brushed aluminum. The PadFone sports a 5-inch FullHD (1080p) resolution with a 441ppi pixel density Super IPS LCD display. The device has a Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 chipset with four Krait 300 cores clocked @ 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 320 GPU. The PadFone Infinity has a 13MP camera on the back with a LED flash and a 2MP camera on the front, both capable for recording 1080p videos @ 30fps. The device has dimensions of 143.5×72.8×8.9 mm and weighs 141 grams. The device will be available with storage options of 32GB and 64GB and doesn’t have a microSD slot for expansion. A 16GB version is also rumored to be available later this year. In terms of connectivity, the device has WiFi a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, A-GPS with GLONASS support and supports 4G LTE. Asus PadFone Infinity will run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-box. The device is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. The device has a non-user replaceable 2400mAh Li-Po battery.
The PadFone Station has a 10.1-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1200 with 224ppi pixel density. The docking station weighs 530 grams with the dimensions 264.6×181.8×10.7 mm. The PadFone Station has a 1MP front-facing camera and a 5000mAh battery.
The Asus PadFone Infinity will be available in March 2013. The exact pricing isn’t clear yet, but we’ll keep you updated.
